Doug is a native of Portland, Oregon. He began his musical career at the age of 19 when he joined a traveling band and toured the western United States. Over the years Doug has fronted his own band and has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with a wide array of artists including BB King, Elvin Bishop, Savoy Brown, Pat Travers, Nils Lofgren, Nazereth, BTO, Sons of Champlin, Randy Hanson, Bugs Henderson, The Switchmasters, DK Stewart, Renato Caranto, Robbie Laws, Jim Mesi, Karen Lovely, Lisa Mann, Michael Quinby and Margo Tufo among many others.  

As a studio producer/ engineer/ songwriter, Doug has been involved with several projects that have been nominated for or received Grammy Awards. He has been a longtime voting member of the Grammy Association. Gino Vanelli, The Yellow Jackets, Jimmy Haslip, David Garribaldi, Graham Lear, Curtis Salgato, Robbie Laws, Jim Mesi, The Thunder Brothers and Jeff Labansky are a few of the artists that have solicited his expertise in the studio.

The Thunder Brothers received the “New Blues Act” at the 2016 Muddy Awards. Doug has previously been nominated for the 2014, 2015 and 2016 Muddy Awards for Electric Guitar. In 2013 Doug was recognized by The Westside Blues Association as “Guitar Slinger of the Year”.
